Nintendo has a vast history of fighting games. In 1985, they released their first game – Famicom: Super Smash Bros., which was an arcade cabinet that could also be played at home.

So it’s not surprising that the newest installment in the franchise was one of Nintendo’s most anticipated games of 2018. It wasn’t just the fans who were waiting for the release, but also pro-gamers who have used the last game to make a name for themselves.

What is Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (2018)?

Released on December 7th, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is the newest installment of Nintendo’s fighting game series. Featuring a roster of over 70 characters including some new additions like Inklings and Daisy, the game is one of the most expansive games in the series. It also features World of Light, an RPG-style mode that has players fight through a horde of enemies to face a final boss.

Nintendo’s Fighting History

The firstever Super Smash Bros. game was released in 1999. Since then, there have been four follow-up releases that include more and more fighters. The fifth game is the latest release and includes over 70 playable characters, which is a record for any fighting game franchise.

Nintendo has a history of making fighting games. Some of their most notable games are Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros. These games have reached monumental levels of popularity with millions of copies sold worldwide each year. One could argue that Nintendo’s legacy is its fighting games.

Online Play

When Smash Bros. Melee was released in 2001, it was a big deal for Nintendo because it meant that players could now play the game online with other people across the world. And even though online play has been around for a long time in video games, this was still new territory for Nintendo.

The thing is, they didn’t want to release an incomplete product as their first experiment with online play, so they scrapped the idea altogether and waited until they had perfected it before releasing another game. And when they finally did release Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008, they did it right! Players were happy to be able to play against other players on their console and this helped grow the multiplayer side of gaming exponentially.

Players will soon be able to experience the thrill of playing Super Smash Bros Ultimate(2018) online. It’s just as fast-paced and frantic as ever – but now you can get revenge on your friends by doing it from your own home!
